Family are going to visit our Country. When it is after big rain our Country comes very beautiful colour. The colours come really bright, the sandhill and the flowers and the bush trees. This is between Ntaria and my outstation at Alkngarintja, my Uncle’s outstation. This is sand and sandhill Country. They come orange and red, really bright.
Andrea Rontji Pungarta joined the Potters in 2017. Andrea comes from a big family of potters, is the niece of prominent potters Lindy and Carol Rontji and the granddaughter of Virginia Rontji and Irene Entata. Andrea draws her inspiration from the landscape, flora, fauna and community surrounding Ntaria (Hermannsburg). Andrea is central to life at the Pottery as she offers her skill as a Director and art worker. She has recently travelled overseas to present her work at the Indian Ceramics Triennale in 2024 and is represented in the collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Australia.
