Margaret Campbell is an emerging artist and Luritja woman from Papunya. She started painting at the Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artist studio in 2020. Margaret primarily paints animals and people in landscapes of desert and rivers. Her artworks depict scenes from home, and of the drive from Papunya to Mparntwe (Alice Springs), capturing the colours and vastness of the desert. Margaret’s great storytelling comes to light through her work, as she talks and paints about swimming spots, cheeky dogs, big storms, and riding camels.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
