Rachel Nangala Rankine was born in Alekarenge (Ali Curung) in 1967. Rachel is Kaytetye and currently lives between Darwin and Alekarenge. Rachel began painting in the late 1980s at the Ali Curung Women’s Centre. She takes a meticulous and calculated approach to her paintings, planning each one out before she starts and experimenting in an array of styles.
