Marcus ‘Double O’ Camphoo Kemarre was born at Murray Downs in 1992. He lives and works between Ali Curung (Kaytetye Country) and Tennant Creek (Warumungu Country). Marcus began painting in 2017 as part of the Tennant Creek Men’s Centre art program which would go on to become the much-acclaimed Tennant Creek Brio and has been painting with Arlpwe Art and Culture Centre since 2020.

Marcus has shown with the Tennant Creek Brio at the 20th Biennale of Sydney Nirin, NGV Melbourne Design Week 2022, and in the recent survey show, Tennant Creek Brio: Juparnta Ngattu Minjinypa Iconocrisis at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Naarm/Melbourne. Marcus’ work has been acquired in Australia by the National Gallery of Victoria, Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Australian National University’s Drill Hall Gallery and Araluen Art Centre, as well as the Fondation Opale in Switzerland.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.
