This is wanakiji, bush tomatoes. Family, we go around collecting bush tucker, with crow bar. Dig them up. We learn from big people, from parents – dad and mum. We grew up on bush food, kanga berry, bush potato, I paint bush tuckers because I like to go out and collect them, sit out with the crowbar and dig the potato. And eat them, it’s a nice taste.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.
