Summertime! Eturna! Thepe mapa (many birds). They come for kwatja (water) and looking for marna (food). In summertime theres more rain, more water around. Waterholes fill up. We see all the birds. On top is nturrurta (spinifex pigeon) they looking for kwatja, marna. They eat everything. I see them sometime, they just sit down and watch the kwatja. Long time we always go down the creek for school, I see them. We used to go for fishing, see all the birds, different kind of colour.

Shirley Wheeler joined the pottery in 2022 and has been learning from and working with her mother, senior artist Dawn Wheeler, almost every day. Shirley is quickly developing skills with clay and her own distinct, graphic painting style. She has recently started working as an art worker at the pottery.
