My name is Stanley Ebatarinja and I was born on the 22nd of May 1971 in Papunya. I moved to Ntaria (Hermannsburg), the homeland of my parents, when I was 13 years old. The brother of my father, Desmond was the one who introduced me to watercolour. I used to live with him and his wife. I still paint both ways [watercolour and dot painting] my country. I consider Ellery Creek and Hermannsburg as my homeland. It always makes me happy to admire all the work of my dad [uncle] Desmond. I feel very grateful for the gifts of my parents, and all my family who practiced the watercolour before me.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
