The magpies, they find a partner for life. They raise their little ones, finding food, feeding and attending to them. The father protects the mother and the babies while in the nest. If it’s windy or raining he shelters them under his wings. My father would tell me and my brothers this story when we were young. He would sing a song about magpies, it was about connecting and protecting family and how we humans should follow suit.
