Ingrid Treacle spent her early years in Kaltjiti, located in the APY Lands. Following a period of education and work in Kaltjiti, Mparntwe and tarntanya (Adelaide), she started painting at Kaltjiti Arts, in the mid-1990s. Ingrid’s father’s country is close to Kaltjiti. Her father’s story of the Tjuntun and the Seven Sisters Tjukurpa is what Ingrid explores in her paintings. This painting shows careful and meditated attention to the Seven Sisters Tjukurpa, as seen in the direction and amassing of the punu, dot work. Ingrid has been the Chairperson and Director of the Kaltjiti Arts board since 2017.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
