In the artwork Kungkarangkalpa Tjukula Tjukurpa (Seven Sisters Rockhole), Meredith Curley has painted the Seven Sisters story. This is a Tjukurpa about the Seven Sisters who travel from Western Australia to New South Wales, turning into stars at the completion of their journey. Meredith paints a section of this journey in which the sisters are travelling through the desert, and as they walk the women become thirsty and stop at a rockhole to have a drink of water before continuing their trek

Meredith Curley was born in 1980 in Kaltjiti (Fregon), located on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands, 350 km south-east of Uluru. Her father’s country is David Well, and her mother’s country is Walytjitjata, west of Kanypi. Meredith comes from a family of well-established painters. Her mother, Imitjala Curley, paints alongside her at Kaltjiti Arts. Meredith paints the Seven Sisters, a Tjukurpa passed down from her father.
