For some reason I thought a lot about my family when I was doing this painting. I was imagining talking to them and seeing them again – they were real happy to see me painting – I used bright colours to show they were happy. I sometimes put little symbols in my paintings, things that made me think of people. Painting is how I keep me and my spirit alive.
