This mimpu sculpture is reminiscent of a traditional deep wooden vessel designed especially for transporting water. It usually carved from a knot or scar on the trunk of a desert bloodwood or a curved root section of the river red gum tree.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
