Sheldon Campbell is an exciting emerging artist who commenced wire sculpture in 2023 learning from his uncles renowned Titjikala artists, David Wallace and Johnny Young. Sheldon forms all sorts of desert animals and characters from recycled metal found at the rubbish tip. Any found metal such as wire and copper and any discarded materials that he can recycle. Sheldon uses old rusty wires to form the shape of his sculptures and completes the upper layers with newer wires or discarded fabrics for a better finish and colour.

Sheldon lives in Aputula (Finke) with his wife and son.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
