Lena Campbell takes inspiration from the country surrounding Titjikala and has incorporated her punu design onto her canvas. Her distinctive motifs and intricate patterns symbolise bush foods and local flora. Lena’s designs and the use of earthy colours reflect the natural environment and her close relationship with the land.

Lena Campbell was born in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and grew up in Titjikala. Her mother is a Luritja woman from Mt. Dare near Finke. Her father was from Titjikala and her grandfather a Pitjantjatjara man. Lena’s Tjukurrpa is Eagle.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
