Kapi tjukula Watarru (these rockholes are Watarru). Manta, puli, putipula, punu munu bushpa (the surrounding country is diverse with sandy patches, rocky hills, bush flowers and trees).

Shannon Pollard is a young emerging artist at Tjungu Palya. Her vivid colour choices and impasto techniques come together in exciting compositions, centered around the Watarru landscape, and echoing the work of her aunt, the late Beryl Jimmy.  Shannon is also an active member of her community, working at the Murputja school, and often helping out at the lunch program when at the art centre.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.

Desart respectfully advises Aboriginal readers that this website may contain names, images and artworks of people who have passed away.
