Sadie Paddoon has painted country south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. The country depicted here is named Nakarra Nakarra. This is the site of the Seven Sisters Tjukurrpa, a story about seven sisters who travelled this country during the Tjukurrpa running from an old man who wanted to marry the youngest. Today at Nakarra Nakarra a group of hills embody the seven sisters. This painting represents the hills the tali (sandhills) found in this country.

Desert Mob is presented annually in Mparntwe | Alice Springs on Arrernte Country.

On behalf of Desart’s staff and art centre members, the Executive Committee humbly and respectfully acknowledge the Arrernte Apmereke Artweye (Traditional Owners) and Kwertengerle (Traditional Managers) of Mparntwe.
